Business & Employment Law

Extensive experience assisting clients in all phases of their business, from entity formation to growth challenges and regulatory compliance. Services include negotiating, drafting and/or reviewing a wide variety of business documents to meet your business needs, serving as your businesses outside General Counsel.

Contracts

Services include all areas in which a contract is required starting from negotiation, drafting and/or reviewing. Documents pertaining to employment contracts, family law (pre and post nuptial agreements, stipulations and property settlement agreements), and real estate agreements.

Estate Planning & Administration

Ms. Starkey considers estate planning as “life planning.” She is here to help make the most sense out of your business and personal decisions that will affect you and your family for many years. 

    Comprehensive estate planning services include Will and Trust drafting, Special Needs Planning, Guardianships, Business Succession Planning, Advance Medical Directives, Financial Power of Attorney, Charitable Gift Planning, Long Term Care Planning, Retirement Planning and Asset Protection Planning. 

     Services also include counseling for the Estate Administration and/ or Trust Administration process. Draft and prepare all forms necessary to assist the personal representative through the Probate process at the Register of Wills and/or Orphans Court, including Family Settlement Agreements. 

Real Estate

Routinely negotiate, draft, and/or review Agreements of Sale and represent clients throughout the purchase or sale of real estate.  

    Also negotiate and draft/review private party rental agreements, simple apartment leases, complex commercial agreements, to minimize the potential for future problems and disputes. For leases where disputes have already arisen, assist in negotiating a satisfactory resolution prior to resorting to litigation.  

Elder Law

Assist in Medicare Planning before possible move to skilled nursing home or after placement. Helping to ensure your loved ones, family and/or friends, will be taken care of upon your placement into a skilled nursing facility. Negotiating, drafting and/or reviewing Life Care Agreements should you or a loved one choose to stay at home. Drafting Irrevocable Trusts to protect assets from 3rd party creditors, Medicare and nursing homes.

Mediation & Binding Mediation

For those who prefer the alternative to the expensive and time consuming litigation process, mediation services are provided, counseling clients on compliance with the particular area of law at issue, negotiating and drafting agreements that are practical, functional and fair to both parties involved in the dispute.
